What Happens After the Appointment

Once your pet has passed peacefully, there's no need to decide anything immediately. When you're ready โ€” whether that's on the day or afterwards by phone โ€” Alina will gently talk you through the aftercare options, and answer any question, however small.

Alina works with hand-selected local crematoriums who share her values of dignity and care. Broadly, families choose between two options: individual cremation and communal cremation.

Individual Cremation

Your pet is cremated on their own, separately from any other animal. Their ashes are then returned to you โ€” usually in a simple container, or in one of the elegant urns our crematorium partners provide, each with a delicate paw print detail. This option is chosen by families who would like a physical place to keep their pet's memory close.

Communal Cremation

Your pet is cremated together with other pets, with the same care and dignity throughout. With this option, individual ashes are not separated or returned. Many families choose communal cremation simply because it feels right for them, or because they prefer not to have ashes returned โ€” there's no wrong choice here.

Ashes, Urns and Keepsakes

If you choose individual cremation, our crematorium partners offer a range of dignified urn options. Alongside ashes, some families also choose a small keepsake โ€” a handcrafted paw print impression, or a tiny glass vial containing a lock of your pet's fur. These are entirely optional, and can be arranged at any point, not only immediately after the appointment.

How Families Choose

There's genuinely no right or wrong answer. Some families feel strongly that they want their pet's ashes at home; others feel more at peace without that. A few questions that might help you think it through:

Whatever you decide, it can also be revisited โ€” you're never locked into a choice made in the moment.
